Feeling Trapped and Unable To Speak?

Sometimes saying nothing is the best course of action. I discussed this recently.

It’s called seeing things and doing nothing about them. We stand by while meetings have no agenda, projects have no purpose, presentations have no point.

Why do we do this?

Because we choose to work together. We choose to build a company in our image and that makes us indelibly imprint our will on to the way of working of those around us.

The reason we put up with the fluff – the wasted time in meetings and projects – is because we believe in the greater good – the wider goal of where we are going.

However, we cannot be complacent. When it gets to a point that we have lost vision, or the vision is unclear, then we can no longer see those day to day distractions as necessary evils to make things happen.

Making things happen for our customer is the only purpose for our business. The moment that we find ourselves not being aligned with that principle, the moment we find ourselves doing work for the sake of work (Busywork) then we are losing focus on who is paying our bills and our wages.

Don’t feel like choosing not to speak is for the greater good.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t.
